About The Oldcastle APG Memorial Scholarship
The Oldcastle APG Memorial Scholarship was established in 2005 after the sudden passing of coworker and friend, Marty Sedwick, whose legacy is rooted in hard work and compassion for others. Since then, the scholarship has evolved to recognize and honor the legacies of our former APG colleagues who have contributed so much to our business but are no longer with us.
Recipients of the Oldcastle APG Memorial Scholarship are awarded a grant that is applied to educational costs at their respective academic institutions. Thank you to all of our applicants and our teams who continue to make Oldcastle APG a great place to work.
Who is Eligible to Apply?
Dependent children of Oldcastle APG employees are eligible to apply for the APG Memorial Scholarship. At least three scholarships will be awarded per year for college, primary and secondary education based on need and/or superior academic achievement. One scholarship may be awarded to a child with special educational needs.
Evaluation Criteria
The scholarship program is open to students attending or planning to attend a college, primary or secondary school, including special needs schools. Applications for scholarships will be evaluated according to academic ability, financial need, or special education need, depending on the type of scholarship awarded. Scholarship applications are judged by a Selection Committee.
Scholarship Amounts
The amount of the award ranges from $2,000 to $5,000 per year, based on committee assessment.
Important information
The Oldcastle APG Memorial Scholarship Selection Committee reserves the right to verify the eligibility of each scholarship recipient according to the terms of the Scholarship Plan document.
The Oldcastle APG Memorial Scholarship Selection Committee reserves the right to request additional documentation from applicants regarding school attendance, test scores, grade point averages, extra-curricular activities, honors, awards and recognition. The Committee also reserves the right to verify financial resources for scholarships based on need.

A list of scholarship recipients will be provided to each Oldcastle APG location and winners will be spotlighted in the APG newsletter. All winners will be notified by July 12, 2024.
