On March 15, one of two levees protecting the city of Fremont, Nebraska, failed. Flood waters closed every highway and bridge going in or out of the city. In this 100-year flood event, officials were desperate to preserve the remaining levee. Together with 600 community volunteers, Ash Grove Packaging supplied and filled sandbags to successfully shore up a one-mile section, saving hundreds of additional homes and businesses from flood damage.
